Part of who we are
At ORYCEA, sustainability didn't begin as a marketing strategy. And it wasn't created to follow a trend.
It started with the same question that shaped ORYCEA:
What if it was possible to build a young, modern brand with a strong identity, without following the logic of overproduction and excess?
We live in an industry that produces millions of garments every year. Many are only worn a few times. Others are never even sold.
We believe there is a better way forward. Not perfect, but more conscious, more responsible and always evolving.
That's why we've chosen to grow with intention, creating only what makes sense and continuously improving the way we work.
Because, for us, sustainability isn't an end goal.
It's part of who we are.
Less waste. More purpose.
One of the biggest challenges facing the fashion industry starts long before a product reaches the customer: overproduction.
At ORYCEA, most of our products are made to order. Every piece is only created after an order is placed, helping us avoid unnecessary stock and significantly reduce waste.
This approach allows us to focus on what really matters: quality materials, thoughtful processes and products designed to last.
At the same time, we continue to increase the use of more responsible raw materials.
Today, around 72% of our collection is made with organic cotton, including every t-shirt we offer.
We don't believe in changing everything overnight just to appear sustainable.
We believe in continuous improvement and making better choices whenever possible.
Where your clothes come from
We believe transparency also means being open about where our products come from.
Our garments are manufactured by carefully selected partners located primarily in Bangladesh, as well as Nicaragua and Honduras.
We understand that these regions are often associated with concerns about the fashion industry. That's exactly why we choose suppliers that operate under internationally recognised social and environmental standards, promoting fair working conditions, respect for human rights and responsible manufacturing practices.
For us, responsibility isn't defined by where a garment is made.
It's defined by the people, the process and the standards behind it.
Once manufactured, our garments are sent to specialised fulfilment centres in Europe, currently located in Spain and Latvia, where they are printed or embroidered before being shipped to the customer.
This model brings the final stage of production closer to the European market, optimises logistics and helps reduce unnecessary steps throughout the supply chain.
At the same time, we are actively working towards producing in Portugal in the future. Our ambition is to find local partners capable of delivering the same level of quality, consistency and responsibility that we expect from every ORYCEA product.
We don't see that as the finish line.
We see it as the next step in our journey.
The journey behind every piece
We believe knowing where your clothes come from is just as important as loving the design.
- Material selection: We work with suppliers who prioritise premium fabrics and increasingly incorporate more responsible raw materials.
- Garment production:Our products are manufactured in facilities that operate according to internationally recognised social and environmental standards.
- European customisation: Printing and embroidery are carried out in specialised centres located in Spain and Latvia.
- Made to order: Every product is created only after an order is placed, helping us avoid unnecessary overproduction.
- Delivered directly to you: Once finished, your order is shipped directly to you, reducing storage requirements and unnecessary waste.
The materials we choose
We believe every great product starts with great materials.
That's why we prioritise durable fabrics and continuously work towards increasing the use of more responsible fibres, such as organic cotton.
Today, all of our t-shirts are made from organic cotton, and a significant part of the rest of our collection follows the same direction.
Our suppliers operate under internationally recognised standards and certifications related to:
- Responsible production and raw material traceability;
- Product safety and material quality;
- Protection of workers' rights throughout the supply chain.
Rather than simply displaying certifications, our focus is on ensuring that every new product we introduce represents an improvement over the last.
Because we believe sustainability isn't measured only by the labels we display.
It's measured by the choices we make.
Our ESG commitment
Environmental
Our priority is to reduce waste and use resources more efficiently.
Our made-to-order model helps us avoid unnecessary overproduction, while our European customisation centres bring the final production stage closer to the market where we operate.
We also continue working to improve our materials, processes and logistics, always looking for ways to reduce the environmental impact of our operations.
We know there's still a long way to go, and that's exactly why we keep moving forward.
Social
People are at the centre of everything we do.
We work with partners who are committed to human rights, fair working conditions and responsible labour practices.
Within ORYCEA, we believe in a culture built on respect, equal opportunities and valuing people.
We encourage a young, dynamic and collaborative environment where personal life, wellbeing and motivation are considered essential parts of professional success.
We believe that when people are respected, supported and able to work in a healthy environment, it naturally reflects in everything they create.
Better ideas.
Better products.
A better company.
Governance
Being transparent doesn't mean having all the answers.
It means being honest about what we do, what we're still building and where we want to go.
We believe people should know where their products come from, what they're made of and the principles behind the decisions we make.
As ORYCEA grows, we want to keep improving our processes, strengthen our partnerships and share more about our journey.
Our commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals
Although ORYCEA is still a young brand, we aim to align our growth with some of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
In particular, we identify with:
SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
By promoting responsible working conditions, valuing people and contributing to sustainable economic growth.
SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
Through our made-to-order model, waste reduction and the increasing use of more conscious materials.
SDG 13: Climate Action
By integrating environmental considerations into the decisions we make every day.
SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
Through transparency, accountability and an ethical approach across our value chain.
For us, these goals are more than international frameworks.
They are principles that help shape the future of ORYCEA.
Alignment with the European Taxonomy
ORYCEA is not currently subject to the reporting requirements established under the European Taxonomy framework.
However, we seek to align our operations with its core principles by promoting more efficient resource use, reducing unnecessary waste and progressively integrating more sustainable practices throughout our value chain.
We believe that building responsibly today means being prepared for the standards of tomorrow.
Transparency
ORYCEA is currently in a stage of growth and development.
For that reason, we do not yet publish formal Sustainability Reports or quantitative ESG indicators.
We believe these reports should be based on consistent, measurable and comparable data collected over time. As a young brand, we prefer not to present incomplete numbers or metrics that we cannot yet monitor with the level of accuracy we expect from ourselves.
Instead, we choose to be transparent about what we already do, the commitments we make and the direction we are heading.
As ORYCEA grows, our goal is to develop a robust monitoring system that will allow us to publish sustainability reports based on real data, clearly communicating the evolution of our environmental, social and governance impacts.
We don't believe transparency starts with a report.
We believe it starts with honesty.
The path ahead
We don't want to prove that fashion can be perfect.
We want to prove that it can be better.
Better materials. Better decisions. Better processes.
Our ambition is simple: to show that a small brand can grow differently. To create without producing more than necessary. To keep improving without relying on greenwashing. And to build a brand where responsibility is part of its identity, not just its communication.
We know we're only at the beginning, but we believe the future belongs to brands that are willing to do things differently.
Because, in the end, sustainability isn't just about the materials we use. It's about the choices behind them, the way we create and the responsibility of building something that lasts.
There's more to it.
